Mental Health In Construction Certification

About this course

Mental Health In Construction Certification

There are four main purposes of this course:

Firstly, to raise awareness of common mental health issues arising within the construction industry and how these are affected by the specific demands of working in this sector.

Secondly, the course is designed to help you learn to recognise signs and predisposing factors in common mental health problems, in both yourself and those with whom you work. We will look specifically at depression, anxiety and stress, explaining clearly what these are, how they manifest and what you can do about them, as well as providing direction towards further resources, should you need information about other mental health conditions.

Thirdly, the course seeks to provide an insight into the importance of establishing a cultural shift within the construction industry, away from the stigmatisation of mental health issues and towards a culture of openness, compassion and information. We’ll offer down-to-earth guidance on the transformative benefits of speaking out and creating a working environment whereby it feels safe for people to do so.

Finally, this course is designed to equip you with your own personal mental health wellbeing toolbox, full of practical, realistic and scientifically proven strategies, to help you to support your own mental wellbeing, as well as that of those around you.
