    FAQs

    What is DevOps?

DevOps is a management methodology that combines ‘Development’ and ‘Operations’. It involves implementing a much greater degree of cooperation and automation across the IT service lifecycle.

    How does DevOps work?

DevOps has development and operations teams collaborate rather than working in silos. It also automates essential tasks for the sake of boosting reliability and speed while also reducing costs. All of this will usually be overseen by a DevOps engineer.

After implementing DevOps’ fundamentals, organizations will continue improving and building on cultures as part of continuous optimization.

    What is a DevOps engineer?

Essentially, this is a manager or practitioner who helps to establish, operate, and oversee DevOps cultures. They will typically have experience in development, operations, or both.

While there is no set path to becoming a DevOps engineer, they will typically have several years of experience in utilizing the methodology. Needless to say, developing a keen understanding of DevOps’ concepts, terminology, practices, and principles can be a major help in obtaining roles.

What does the DevOps certification path look like?

Unlike other approaches, there is no strict DevOps certification path. Most students will start with the Foundation level exam before moving on to either the Leader exam or DevSecOps Engineering. However, there are no prerequisites for higher-level courses.

    How can DevOps benefit businesses?

DevOps offers several benefits, including increased collaboration, improved ROIs, easier prioritization, and greater alignment between IT and business. Read this article for more information.

What do I need to know about the DevOps examinations?

The DevOps Foundation exam is open-book, features 40 questions, and is 60 minutes long (with 15 extra minutes for students who do not have English as a native language). The pass mark is 65%.

The DevOps Leader exam is open-book, features 40 questions, and is 90 minutes long (with 25 extra minutes for students who do not have English as a native language). The pass mark is 65%.

Why is security so important in DevOps?

Security is an issue with huge importance in IT. Because organizations using DevOps enjoy greater speed, they must focus on updating their security practices in order to keep up and keep essential data protected. This is what led to the creation of DevSecOps.

Can DevOps work with ITIL 4?

Yes! In fact, ITIL 4 was specifically designed to work with several popular frameworks in IT and software development.
