This module outlines the Principles of PRINCE2 and asks learners to apply them in different contexts. 

Module 3: Business Case

This module sets out the requirements of the Business Case Theme, an essential part of any PRINCE2 project.

The roles and responsibilities within the Business Case Theme are covered, along with the outputs and outcomes. 

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the Business Case Theme, based on their contexts and requirements.  

Module 4: Organization

This module focuses on the Organization Theme, including the roles and responsibilities of the Theme as well as the project team structure. 

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the Organization Theme based on their contexts, principles, and requirements.  

Module 5: Quality

This module focuses on the Quality Theme, including the roles and responsibilities involved.

It covers the key activities, including quality planning, control, and assurance.

The importance of product descriptions, project descriptions, and quality registers is also explained. 

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the Quality Theme based on their contexts, principles, and requirements.  

Module 6: Plans

This module focuses on the Plans Theme, including the roles and responsibilities involved.

It covers the recommended approach to planning. The importance of project plans, stage plans, and team plans is also explained. 

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the Plans Theme based on their contexts, principles, and requirements.  

Module 7: Risk

This module focuses on the Risk Theme, including the roles and responsibilities involved.

It covers the recommended risk management procedure. The risk management approach and risk register are also explained. 

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the Risk Theme based on their contexts, principles, and requirements.  

Module 8: Change

This module focuses on the Change Theme, including the roles and responsibilities involved.

It covers the recommended issue and change control procedures. The change control approach, configuration item record, and issue register are also explained. 

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the Change Theme based on their contexts, principles, and requirements.

Module 9: Progress

This module focuses on the Progress Theme, including the roles and responsibilities involved.

It covers tolerances and raising exceptions. The various reports, including the checkpoint report, daily log, and end project report, are also explained. 

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the Progress Theme based on their contexts, principles, and requirements.  

Module 10: The Process Model

This module focuses on the fundamentals of the Process Model. The interactions between the seven PRINCE2 Processes are also examined. 

Module 11: Starting up a Project

This module explains the activities, actions, and processes of Starting Up a Project (SU). These include:

  • Appointing the project manager, executive, and project management team
  • Preparing the Outline Business Case (OBC)
  • Planning the initiation management stage, including understanding the roles and responsibilities required for the project
Module 12: Directing a Project

This module explains the activities, actions, and processes of Directing a Project (DP). These include:

  • Authorize initiation, project, stage, or exception plan
  • Authorize project closure, including understanding the roles and responsibilities involved

Module 13: Initiating a Project

This module explains the activities, actions, and processes of Initiating a Project (IP). These include:

  • Preparing risk management, change control, quality management, and communications management approaches
  • Creating the business plan and refining the business case
  • Assembling the project initiation document, including understanding the roles and responsibilities required

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the IP Process. They will be asked to consider the context, principles, and purpose of the Process. 

Module 14: Controlling a Stage

This module explains the activities, actions, and processes of Controlling a Stage (CS), including Work Packages. These include:

  • Authorizing Work Packages, reviewing their status, and receiving completed Work Packages
  • Monitoring and reporting activities, including reacting to report highlights and escalating risks and issues

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the CS Process. They will be asked to consider the context, principles, and purposes of the Process.  

Module 15: Manage Product Delivery

This module explains the activities, actions, and processes of Managing Product Delivery (MP). These include:

  • Accepting and executing a Work Package

Module 16: Managing a Stage Boundary

This module explains the activities, actions, and processes of Managing a Stage Boundary (SB). These include:

  • Producing an exception plan, including understanding the roles and responsibilities required

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the SB Process. They will be asked to consider the context, principles, and purpose of the Process.  

Module 17: Closing a Project

This module explains the activities, actions, and processes of Closing a Project (CP). These include:

  • Preparing planned and premature closure
  • Handing over products and evaluating the project
  • Recommending project closure, including understanding the roles and responsibilities required

Learners will be asked to analyze effective approaches to applying the CP Process. They will be asked to consider the context, principles, and purpose of the Process. 

Practice Exam Simulators

Learners are given the opportunity to put their skills into practice using simulations of the official PRINCE2 Practitioner exam. Correct answers and their rationale are given, along with explanations in the context of the course content.

Assessment 

In order to sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination, you must produce proof of one of the following qualifications:
